Advertising Sales Associate Part-Time (Allston)

SpaceAge Media is a growing advertising sales/marketing/PR company based in Allston looking to add another Advertising Sales Associate to our team. There are two parts of our business--advertising sales and marketing /PR services. On the ad sales side, we are hired to represent publishers of consumer and business-to-business magazines, websites and electronic media to sell advertising for them. We focus on established products that are better known in their markets and avoid startups that require lots of cold calling with little return. This makes the process of converting a prospect to a buyer much easier. Ours is a repeat business, so relationship selling is important. We are hiring an Advertising Sales Associate for this part of the business.

The person we are seeking will be responsible for selling advertising for a portfolio of publications including two life-style consumer titles with prospects in the Boston area, a national hobbyist publication and its associated digital products, and possibly a B2B title with accounts throughout New England. You will inherit some currently running accounts and you will be expected to prospect for new business from qualified leads. As we acquire new publishing clients, may have the opportunity to add to your portfolio and generate additional income. We provide a very high level of support to maximize your ability to close sales. While this is mostly an at-home or in-office job, some local travel is necessary, and a car is required.

The job is perfect for an at-home mom looking for a flexible position while the kids are at school, a person who is currently an independent advertising sales rep and is looking for additional work, or a mature young adult interested in learning a new business. Minimum weekly commitment is 25 hours; however this can grow into a full time position. This is a commission-based position; however we offer a base rate until commissions begin to accrue. Reimbursement of travel expenses is provided.

BA/BS degree required. Independent, go-getter, self-starter attitude a must. Ideal candidate will have had successful sales experience (advertising sales preferred) and/or may be selling other advertising now.
